Supplements: Seller is a licensed REALTOR in another State. Come see how private a glass house is with a modern kitchen, glowy fireplace, wall of bookshelves, all the beds and baths you want and nothing superfluous. Two separate secure storage rooms contain the stuff of life so you can pursue simplicity, beauty, and openness in this totally timeless design. In 1962, Windsor Park, a classic mid-century neighborhood on Tucson's east side, was developed by J. Herbert Oxman and designed by architect David S. Swanson of Ambrose and Swanson. "Marketing materials from the time advertised the home as 'almost living outdoors' with the average 3-bedroom home featuring some 575 square feet of glass" (Romi Carroll Wittman for Tucson Lifestyle Magazine). The developer received the prestigious "Best Home for the Money" award from American Home Magazine in 1963. (from the Tucson Modernism Week 2023 Home Tour program) Tucson Lifestyle magazine featured the 2015 remodel of this property by prior owners Jim and Roxanne Eck (February 2020), and it was featured among 7 architecturally significant properties for the 2023 Tucson Modernism Week Home Tour. Architect J. Chris Evans provided the design services for the remodel. He oversaw replacing much of the original single-pane glass with new aluminum windows and sliders, including the addition of a large picture window in the den to capture views of the Catalinas while fireside. He opened the entire kitchen and living area and modernized with new lighting, cabinets, countertops, appliances and concrete overlay flooring. The prior owners even went to the expense of pulling natural gas to the cooktop. They increased the openness of the entry foyer, made improvements to the laundry room, revamped the primary bedroom's ensuite bathroom, and upgraded the 2-car garage with a new glass-panel garage door, added insulation, additional electrical/lighting and a mini-split for climate control year round. Intended as an art studio for the previous owner, a skylight was also added. Finally, a new concrete driveway was added to replace the old asphalt.
