Location of Presidio at Williams Centre
Presidio at Williams Centre is located (surprise, surprise) near Williams Centre. It’s just north of 16th Street between Rosemont Boulevard and Craycroft Road.
Texas Instruments is located nearby, as well as several office buildings, shops, and restaurants at Williams Centre. Park Place Mall is close too.
The neighborhood is located on the 16th Street/Timrod bicycle boulevard that offers a short, flat, easy ride to Reid Park and beyond.
Amenities
Presidio at Williams Centre is a gated community, which is a rare find in the central part of Tucson. It features a community pool and spa with lots of lounge chairs and a spacious ramada space. They even have their own little free library.
Homeowners Association
The HOA takes care of maintenance of the front yard of each home. It’s also responsible for maintaining the private streets within the neighborhood.
Built by Doucette Homes
This colorful neighborhood was built by Doucette Homes in the late 1990s. The company was founded by Tom Doucette in 1982 and they have built at least 3,000 homes in the Tucson area.
One of Mr. Doucette’s first projects in Tucson was the Hill Farm neighborhood off Fort Lowell Road in 1981, the same year he moved to Tucson.
Homes in the Presidio at Williams Centre
The Southwestern style homes in the neighborhood use a palette of 7 or 8 bright colors, which makes the neighborhood anything but boring.
Single story and two-story homes can be found here. Homes are usually 2 – 3 bedrooms, with 2 – 3 bathrooms, and a 2-car garage. Lot sizes are on the smaller side, which minimizes the amount of yardwork needed.
Some homes share a driveway with a neighboring home or homes. There are sidewalks and it’s common to see neighbors taking walks when the weather is nice.
Some say the neighborhood feels similar to Civano, which is located on the southeast part of Tucson. Well, that’s likely because Doucette Homes was one of the builders involved with the Civano neighborhood.
