La Reserve and Oro Valley Location
La Reserve is located within the town of Oro Valley which consists of about 50,000 residents. Oro Valley is a suburb of Tucson, Arizona and was founded in 1974 with it’s own town council. Oro Valley is situated along Oracle Road (also known as State Route 77).
La Reserve Neighborhood
La Reserve is a beautiful, gated community within Oro Valley. It’s east of Oracle Road and backs to Catalina State Park land. Most of the neighborhood is elevated along the hills at the base of the Catalina Mountains. This allows for great views of the Catalina Mountains, including Pusch Ridge, and the city below.
Types of homes in La Reserve
The Boulders at La Reserve Condominiums
La Reserve has a wide variety of homes. The least expensive options are the condos at The Boulders at La Reserve. The condos were built in 1995 and they range from 1 bedroom to 3 bedroom units. There are ground level units available as well as second level units. A few of the condos have a single car garage, otherwise each unit comes with a carport space. The community is not gated. It has resort-style amenities including a clubhouse, a pool and spa, gym facilities, and a business center.
Gated Community
Other than the condos, most of the neighborhood is behind manned guard gates, including townhomes, single family homes, and luxury custom homes. The big exceptions are the subdivisions called Ram Canyon and Rams Pass, which are both located to the north end of the neighborhood and do not have gates.
Townhomes in La Reserve
There are a couple of townhome communities within La Reserve, Stoney Canyon at La Reserve and La Reserve Villas. Stoney Canyon was built in the late 1980s, while the Villas were built from 2008-2022. Each townhome community a community pool and spa. Both are located beyond the manned guard gates.

As for Single Family Homes, there are more modest tract-style homes which are on smaller lots, semi-custom style homes, as well as fully custom luxury homes on larger parcels.

There are also quite a few vacant lots available for those looking to build a custom dream home. Many of these will offer stellar views. Lot sizes range from about 1/3 an acre to an acre or more. Nearby Recreation and Lifestyle
Golf
While the neighborhood is not centered around a golf course, there are a lot of golfing opportunities nearby. The closest of which is a 9-hole course called Pusch Ridge Course. It’s located adjacent to the El Conquistador Resort Hotel. This course is open seasonally from November thru April.
Another close by golf course is Oro Valley Country Club which is a private club founded in 1959. There’s also the El Conquistador which opened in 1982. And further west is Omni Tucson National, among several others.
Hiking
With such beautiful mountain vistas, of course hiking is plentiful in the area. The closest hiking is within Catalina State Park which has several great trails to choose from. The park also has many community programs including group nature walks, stargazing, live concerts, bird watching, and more.
Biking
The Loop is a popular biking, walking, running trail that has been extended through Oro Valley. It is routed along the banks of the Canada del Oro, winding its way from I-10, past Omni Tucson National Golf Resort, past Oro Valley Country Club, running behind the shops along Oracle Road, and it eventually crosses under Oracle Road to connect it to Catalina State Park. The loop totals over 130 miles of paved trails that encircle the city of Tucson, as well as traveling thru Marana, and Oro Valley.
Oro Valley Services
Oro Valley has grown rapidly with a lot of construction happening from the 1990s to present day. Along with this growth, there’s a lot of services and jobs in the area. Most of the commercial area is located along both sides of Oracle Road (State Route 77) with a plethora of big box stores, grocery stores, restaurants, and services. Oro Valley Marketplace is just north on Oracle Road with many shops and restaurants.
As for healthcare, Oro Valley Hospital is close by.
La Reserve Schools
La Reserve is within the Amphitheater Unified District. The public schools for the neighborhood are Copper Creek Elementary, Cross Middle School, and Canyon Del Oro High School.
