About Skyline Bel Air Estates
Skyline Bel Air Estates is a beautiful community located in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson. The area is known for its city and mountain views; the Catalina Mountains are just to the north. Homes are situated on large lots, located in a peaceful desert setting.
The community consists of about 450 homes, at an elevation ranging from 2600 to 3000 feet, is about 10 miles north of downtown Tucson, and 15 miles east of I-10. The neighborhood is bounded roughly by Skyline to the north, Sunrise to the south, Craycroft to the east, and Swan to the west. It is part of the Catalina Foothills School District #16 with Sunrise Drive Elementary, Orange Grove Middle, and Catalina Foothills High schools serving the neighborhood.
Residents have access to a recreation center which features a junior Olympic size pool, ramada, tennis, and basketball courts. It is convenient to services, with shopping and restaurants approximately one half mile away.
Originally an old cattle ranch, and western film location, development began in 1964. The lots range in size from approximately .5 acre to a little over an acre.
