Sam Hughes Place is a mixed-use development, consisting of businesses and condominiums, directly across the street from the University of Arizona campus in the Sam Hughes neighborhood. You can’t get much closer to UA than this!
It’s located conveniently at Campbell Avenue and 6th Street in Tucson, Arizona. Sam Hughes Place at the Corner (the official name) is only a couple blocks east of Arizona Stadium, McKale Center, most of the other UA sports facilities. This has made it a popular place to live for students, UA staff, and UA sports fans alike.

Sam Hughes Place at the Corner has 2 different areas within the property: First, the main building where the businesses are located with condos above. And secondly, additional residential condos located east and south of the main building.
Main Building
The first floor of the main building has restaurants and businesses including the highly rated Trident Pizza Pub, Cheba Hut “Toasted” Subs, Cookie Plug, Southern Arizona Urgent Care, Toni & Guy salon, and Spa Solai.
The two upper floors of the main building houses some of the condos. Entry is securely accessed with a key fob. An elevator is available to access the residential units on the upper floors. The condos in the main building also have use of a community gym/fitness center located on the second floor. These units are single level and they have assigned covered parking spaces. Most of these units have a private balcony patio, many with great views!

Sam Hughes Place at the Corner also has additional condo units located in 5 buildings to the east and south of the main building. Some of these units are single level and others have 2 levels. Sam Hughes Place was built in 2004-2005 by Tucson developer Town West. There are 55 condos that range in size from about 1,000 square feet to 1,700 square feet. Each unit has 2 to 3 bedrooms and 2 to 2.5 bathrooms. Laundry is available in each unit. Most units have 2 assigned covered parking spots. A few of the condos have a 2-car garage instead.

Being this close to the UA campus, the neighborhood is popular with college students, UA faculty, staff, and other professionals. The area is very walkable, with a walk score of 78, and a bike score of 91.
Safeway is only ½ mile to the south and Rincon Market is ½ mile to the east. Downtown and 4th Avenue is less than 2 miles away. The shopping district at Campbell is 1.5 miles north of the property. The Sunshine Mile shopping district is just ½ mile to the south.
